ORHA Receives $500k Grant for Home Renovations

ORHA recently received a federal grant of $500,000 to help qualifying individuals in Oak Ridge make repairs and renovations to their homes. Individuals who make up to 80% of the median income for Oak Ridge residents are eligible for the funds.

The check was presented to ORHA by the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, and we were pleased to be joined by the Tennessee Lt. Gov. Randy McNally, and Congressman Chuck Fleischmann. We greatly appreciate their support of our work to help disadvantaged and lower income families become self sufficient through stable housing.

"Nothing pains me more - whether I'm in Washington, D.C. or in our great state of Tennessee - than to see homeless people," Congressman Fleischmann stated at the presentation.

Earlier this year, ORHA received more than $100,000 in down-payment assistance for eligible residents. Together, these programs put a safe roof over the heads of low-income Oak Ridgers, and put them on a better footing toward financial independence.
